About Cornucopia Tours

What our clients say
"Thank you again for your guidance and arrangements for my group
tour to historic Philadelphia. It has been something we wanted to
accomplish for a long time."
-- Organizer of a family reunion tour
"Again, thanks for planning our three day tour. None of us could believe
how much there was to see and do. We will long remember the places
we loved like Nemours, Longwood, that gorgeous Winterthur and
others. Also, the restaurants you scheduled for us had great food. Many
thanks.
-- Leader of a group of 20 tourists from the Caribbean
"We talked all the way home about the beautiful Brandywine Valley.
Your tour guide did a great job giving us some inside stories about the
DuPonts and other historic people. We plan to come back in a year or
two to see more. Thanks for everything you did.
-- A couple from North Carolina
"Martha, thank you for taking such good care of every detail. Gratefully,
-- A visitor from Illinois, who booked an individual tour
"I am so glad we have worked together on great trips to the
Brandywine Valley over the last several years. Your step-on guides are
excellent. I'm looking forward to our 2010 tours and beyond.
-- Head of an East Coast tour company

At Cornucopia Tours, we believe that the best tours are those built
around the preferences and passions of our guests. A recognized
leader in tourism and travel, we have been planning and leading tours
of the beautiful Brandywine Valley and historic Philadelphia since 1998.
We offer both well-designed complete packages built around themes
and customized tours. Our services range from escorted tours for
individuals and small groups to step-on guides for large tours. We take
as much pleasure in organizing and leading each tour as our guests
enjoy taking them.
To lay the foundation for Cornucopia Tours, Martha earned a certificate in
travel and tourism; served as a guide for Footloose, a prestigious tour
company; and worked at the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors
Bureau as well as several local historical attractions, including the Kalmar
Nyckel, the Delaware Historical Museum and Winterthur. An inveterate
teacher and student, Martha has found that Cornucopia Tours offers
constant opportunities to both share and add to her knowledge of the
area.
Martha Gessler, the founder of Cornucopia Tours, fell in love
with the Brandywine Valley when she settled there in the
1990s and spent many days exploring the depths of its beauty.
She was increasingly intrigued by the thought of combining
her appreciation of the area with the entrepre- neurial spirit of
her father and grandfather.
